Thank you for your interest in the MBA program at IIT Madras. As you are preparing to submit your application, we wanted to highlight the following aspects of the application process.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN IN EACH SECTION WHILE FILLING YOUR APPLICATION. WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO TAKE A PRINT OF THESE GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR EASY REFERENCE.
1. Application process
Application should be submitted online. Only those who are invited to the next stage of the selection (the Group Task and Personal Interview process), email will be sent to the referees requesting online submission of the recommendations.
2. Essential requirements
WHO CAN APPLY
Graduates in any discipline from a recognised University (or a professional qualification equivalent to that of a university degree as recognized by the UGC) with a first class or 60% and above in the qualifying examination.
Final year students (of the above-mentioned program) are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they meet all requirements for the qualifying degree before the start of the program and produce provisional certificate of completion within two months of joining the program (by September 30, 2017)
Any Indian national with a valid score in the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs)
A foreign national with a valid GMAT score.
Sponsored candidates with a valid CAT score and at least two years of work experience in the same organisation. Sponsored candidates should apply through proper channel.
An applicant with an undergraduate degree from any IIT and a CGPA of 8 and above is exempted from the CAT requirement.
Defence personnel can apply as sponsored candidates and are exempted from the CAT requirement.
3. Application deadline
The deadline for submitting the application online is Jan 30, 2017. It is the applicants responsibility to ensure that the application and the fee is submitted by the deadline. Only those applications that are completed and for which the application fee has been received would be considered for the selection process.
4. Application fee
For all applicants from India
The application fee is Rs. 1600 /- General and OBC applicants
A reduced fee of Rs. 800 /- is applicable for SC/ ST/ PD applicants
The application fees have to be paid only through Internet Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card
For Foreign and NRI applicants
The fee for Foreign and NRI candidates is US $100. They should pay the application fee by way of demand draft or bankers cheque drawn in favour of "The Registrar, IIT Madras" and payable at Chennai. Draft from any bank is acceptable.
5. Correctness of information provided
The applicant will bear the full responsibility for the correctness and accuracy of the information given in the application. Applicants are therefore strongly advised to verify the information provided by them before submitting the application. No changes are possible after the application has been submitted. Misrepresentation or providing wrong information, knowingly or otherwise, will result in the application being summarily rejected at any stage of the application process.
